Your systems must be secure, yet agile enough to meet the ever-changing needs of your users. As new hires, customers, partnerships, mergers, job changes and terminations reshape user access needs; Novell Identity Manager delivers swift, secure management. It automates changes to user access rights, passwords and profiles, streamlining administration and reducing costs. Through this course, you will learn to use Novell Identity Manager 3 to accelerate the flow of information throughout an organization; enhance efficiency by removing the barriers between applications, data stores and network platforms; and (leveraging Novell eDirectory ) creating Novell Identity Manager policies that automatically distribute new and updated identity information within an environment. You will gain the knowledge and skills to:
Configure the new password management application portal between eDirectory and Active Directory
Implement tips and tricks for installation, configuration, and customization of IDM drivers with iManager 2.0.X
Gain a very thorough understanding of Policy Builder by creating policies used for user provisioning. Policy Builder is a complete, graphical interface for creating and managing the policies that define the exchange of data between connected systems. The class focus will shift from XML and XSLT to Policy Builder, however, we will still discuss XSLT in a limited form because of the complex scenarios where Policy Builder can be limited
Learn the new user application software that provides password management and new white pages (formally eGuide)
Learn how to implement Entitlements in your environment and work with the new Designer application tool.
The focus of this Advanced Technical Training course is gaining a thorough understanding of Novell Identity Manager 3 by utilizing real life scenarios and software. You will learn more than how to configure and setup drivers separately and write a few stylesheets. You will learn to configure drivers that work together in a total Novell Identity Management framework--starting from with the application that owns the identities in your organization and moving down to each application system. Once these drivers are in place, you will focus on Policy Builder where you create, define, and manage the exchange of identity data between different systems.
*Note: This training does not cover the new provisioning (work flow) interface that is now available for Novell Identity Manager 3. The only items that will be covered is the new Password Management, Entitlements, and updated white pages (formally eGuide). Provisioning is covered in Advanced Technical Training - Provisioning Module for Novell Identity Manager 3.
