Course Overview This is the final course in a five-part series that will provide IT professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to install, manage, monitor, configure, and troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, Remote Access, Network Protocols, IP Routing, and WINS in a Windows 2000 network infrastructure. At the completion of this course, students will learn to identify the components of Network Address Translation (NAT) and the procedures for adding the NAT protocol; create and configure a Web site; create an FTP site; enable Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) and configure the applications and services for ICS; install and configure RIS and Terminal Services; and remotely configure options for the RIS clients on the server and configure the Terminal client. Learn To: - Identify the components of Network Address Translation (NAT) and the procedures for adding the NAT protocol. Add an interface to Network Address Translation (NAT) to a computer running Windows 2000 server.
- Configure NAT properties and NAT interface.
- Install Internet Information Services (IIS).
- Create and configure a Web site.
- Create an FTP site.
- Troubleshoot IIS.
- Enable Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) and configure the applications and services for Internet Connection Sharing (ICS).
- Install and configure RIS and Terminal Services.
- Remotely configure options for the RIS clients on the server and configure the Terminal client.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity problems by using the utilities provided by Windows 2000 and TCP/IP.

Participants should have completed Microsoft Windows 2000 Installation, Configuration, & Administration (Course Series 72413 - 72420) and the first four courses in this series. Total Learning Time 6 - 8 Hour(s) Course Contents Unit 1: Network Address Translation (NAT) Duration: 1 - 2 Hour(s) - Identify the information contained in the IP packets at each stage of the process of communicating with the Internet by using NAT.
- Add the Network Address Translation (NAT) protocol by using the Administrative Tools menu.
- Add an interface to NAT by using the shortcut menu.
- Configure an application on a NAT network by using the shortcut menu.
- Enable the NAT addressing component by using the shortcut menu.
- Enable the NAT name resolution component by using the shortcut menu.
- Configure an address pool for a NAT interface by using the Routing and Remote Access console.
- Configure a special port for a NAT interface by using the Routing and Remote Access console.
Unit 2: Internet Connection Duration: 1 - 2 Hour(s) - Install IIS on Windows 2000 Server by using Control Panel.
- Create a Web site on a Web server by using the menu bar in the Internet Information Services console.
- Configure a Web site on a Web server by using the toolbar in the Internet Information Services console.
- Create an FTP site on a Web server by using the menu bar in the Internet Information Services console.
- Identify the corrective action to troubleshoot an error encountered while connecting to a Web site.
- Enable Internet connection sharing by using the Accessories menu.
- Configure an application for a shared connection by using the shortcut menu in the Network and Dial-up Connections window.
- Configure a service for a shared connection by using the shortcut menu in the Network and Dial-up Connections window.
