ZENworks for Desktops 2 0 Part 1--Application Mgmt

This course provides students with the concepts and skills to establish ZENworks 2.0 on a NetWare 5 network and use the ZENworks components (i.e., Application Launcher, Remote Management and Workstation Manager) to manage Windows workstations through NDS.

Learn To:

• Identify ZENworks Design guidelines and installation processes.
• Identify the Novell Client upgrade processes, register and import workstations, and configure search policies.
• Identify management applications using Application Launcher.
• Identify how to distribute applications using Application Launcher.

The targeted audience for this course is system administrators. This course is intended for network administrators who have passed Novell's CNE certification by taking either courses 520 and 525 or courses 560 and 570.

Unit 1: ZENworks Installation

• Identify the NDS Quick Design guidelines for the design elements.
• Identify the NDS Design guidelines for NDS for NT.
• Identify guidelines for placement of application objects.
• Identify guidelines for the placement of workstation objects.
• Identify guidelines for placement of group objects.
• Identify the NDS Design issues associated with policy package objects.
• Match the necessary hardware requirements with the correct ZENworks installation resource.
• Identify the necessary software requirements for the installation of ZENworks.
• Identify the necessary rights requirements for the installation of ZENworks.
• Identify the required pre-installation tasks for ZENworks.
• Select the options necessary for a ZENworks custom installation.
• Identify ZENworks implementation tasks within the ZENworks implementation checklist.

Unit 2: Novell Client Installation

• Sequence the steps necessary to automate the client installation using ACU.
• Match the command line parameter with its description.
• Sequence the steps necessary to automate the client installation using ACU and the NCIMAN.exe utility.
• Prepare an NDS container for manual registration using NetWare Administrator.
• Run the Workstation Registration program manually from the workstation Scheduler using Windows Explorer.
• Verify workstation registration through a container's Workstation Registration property page using NetWare Administrator.
• Match the methods used to troubleshoot workstation registration problems with the corresponding definition.
• Create a user policy package with the Workstation Import Policy enabled using NetWare Administrator.
• Import workstations manually using NetWare Administrator.
• Re-register a workstation using Windows Explorer.
