ZENworks 2 0 Desktop Mgmt Part 2

This course provides students with the concepts and skills to establish ZENworks 2.0 on a NetWare 5 network and use the ZENworks components (i.e., Application Launcher, Remote Management and Workstation Manager) to manage Windows workstations through NDS.

The target audiences for this course are System Administrators, Network Administrators, and MIS Support Technicians. This course is intended for network administrators who have passed Novell's CNE certification by taking either courses 520 and 525 or courses 560 and 570.

Unit 1: Establishing the Desktop Environment

• Match each Workstation Manager feature with its capability.
• Identify the functions of NetWare Administrator snap-in.
• Match each policy package type with its definition.
• Sequence the tasks that are completed prior to policy package creation.
• Identify the NetWare Administrator tasks involved in creating policy packages.
• Identify the reason it is necessary to create separate policy packages for Admin users.
• Label each NDS tree graphic with the policy package association it depicts.
• Identify the cumulative policies in ZENworks 2.0.
• Match the system policy state with the description of how the workstation translates it.
• Disable a policy using the User System Policies.
• Identify the guidelines for creating policy packages in an NDS tree.
• Identify the guidelines for configuring policy packages in an NDS tree.
• Change the refresh rate for enabled policies using the Workstation Manager.
• Customize the desktop for the users in a container using the User System Policies.
• Create a separate Admin user policy package using the Policy Package Wizard dialog box.
• Create a workstation policy package using the Policy Package Wizard dialog box.
• Identify the function of the Scheduler utility in ZENworks 2.0.
• Access the NetWare Administrator Scheduler utility using a policy package object.

Unit 2: Managing Remote Workstations

• Associate a Remote Management setting directly using a workstation object.
• Distribute a Remote Management agent using the Application Launcher.
• Establish security parameters through the Remote Management policy in a user policy package object.
• Match the Remote Management utility with its function.
• Connect to a target workstation using NetWare Administrator.
• Label each Viewing window toolbar button with its function.
• Execute an application program on a managed workstation using Remote Execute.
• Disconnect from a target workstation using the title bar menu in the Viewing window.
