Cisco Internetwork Troubleshooting Part 1

123-CBT Computer Based Training
Training Provided by 123-CBT Computer Based Training This is the first of two courses on Cisco Internetwork Troubleshooting. The courses are designed to prepare learners for the CCNP CIT exam 642-831. This course will cover baseline configuration and documentation of networks and end-systems, support resources for troubleshooting, and troubleshooting approaches. It covers commands and guidelines required for problem isolation and resolution at the physical and data link layers of the OSI model.

Learn To:

  • Identify components of a network configuration table.
  • Identify characteristics of a network topology diagram.
  • Identify guidelines for discovering network configuration information.
  • Match Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) model layers with their corresponding Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model layers.
  • Sequence the stages in the process of sending encapsulated data flows between end-systems.
  • Match networking devices with their associated logical layers.
  • Identify symptoms of problems that occur at the physical layer.
  • Identify symptoms of problems that occur at the data link layer.
  • Match Cisco commands used to isolate physical and data link layer problems with their functions.
  • Identify commands used to resolve problems at the physical and data link layers.
  • Sequence the steps to resolve a problem at the physical and data link layers.
  • Sequence the steps to resolve a serial interface problem involving an inactive interface on a router.
Audience:

This course is aimed at professionals responsible for maintaining the efficient operation of complex computer networks, for example, System Engineers, Network Administrators, or Internetwork Engineers. Cisco employees, Channel Partners, Resellers, and customers may also take this course. It is expected that the target audience will be educated to degree level or equivalent in computer science or electrical engineering with some experience of maintaining Cisco internetworks.
