Audience:

Learners preparing to take exam Designing Cisco Network Service Architectures ARCH v1.0 (642-871). This CCDP exam is the final step necessary to achieve the status of Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP). It also affirms possession of some of the skills needed to achieve the status of Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE). It is recommended that students have Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent level of knowledge.

  • Identify features and functions of Layer 2 and Layer 3 redundancy.
  • Identify design considerations for the components in a high availability network.
  • Identify guidelines for designing a high availability Campus network.
  • Identify guidelines for designing high availability for the Enterprise Edge functional area.
  • Identify features of an optimal high availability enterprise site design.
  • Identify options to configure EtherChannel load balancing.
Unit 3: Designing IP Multicast Services (3 hours)
  • Identify features of IP multicast intelligent network services.
  • Identify characteristics of IP multicast data delivery.
  • Identify the ways in which IP multicast forwarding works with Reverse Path Forwarding (RPF).
  • Identify the purposes of IP multicast receiver group membership.
  • Identify features of PIM-DM (Protocol Independent Multicast dense mode) and PIM spare mode (PIM-SM).
  • Identify the functions of IP Multicast control mechanisms.
  • Identify guidelines for designing IP multicast solutions.
  • Match IP multicast Campus network
