Poka Yoke (pronounced poh-kah yoh-kay) is a quality management concept developed by a manufacturing engineer named Shigeo Shingo. Poka means inadvertent errors and yokeru means to avoid. Thus, Poka Yoke translates to avoiding inadvertent errors. Poka Yoke prevents human errors from occurring in the production line. Poka Yoke is sometimes called fool-proofing or mistake proofing .
The course enables the delegates to:
- Understand Poka Yoke.
- Prevent mistakes from happening in the first place.
- Find ways of reducing operator error.
