Course Overview

The is the third course in a three part series that introduces the features of Windows 2000 and its purpose, and the features and benefits of Active Directory. It also covers how to install Windows 2000 Advanced Server, and how to configue Active Directory. It identifies common Active Directory management tasks, as well as covers how to manage and troubleshoot Active Directory. Finally, it explains Active Directory through the FDS model, and how to integrate disparate directories.

• Understand the roles and features of Windows 2000 servers.
• Identify the features and benefits of Active Directory and configuring Active Directory.
• Identify the tasks that are performed for managing Active Directory objects such as domain controllers, and benefits of user and computer accounts.
• Identify the procedures for creating Active Directory objects.
• Identify the trust relationship types and the procedures for creating trust relationships and sites.
• Identify the tasks to manage replication and schema.
• Identify how to troubleshoot Active Directory.

Audience

The intended audience for this course includes Technical Managers, System Administrators, Software Engineers, and Network Administrators. They should be experienced IT professionals who are experts with Novell NetWare 4 or NetWare 5 and have prior knowledge of Novell Directory Services (NDS). Additionally, learners should have taken the first two parts of this series (82711-82712).
