Course Overview

This is the second course in a three part curriculum about Macromedia products that can be used for Web design. This course teaches students how to use Dreamweaver 4. Additionally, they will learn the basic and intermediate skills needed to create interactive Web sites using Dreamweaver.

• Identify the use of images and multimedia in Dreamweaver 4 documents.
• Identify page layout and elements used to design a page.
• Identify the use of tables, layers, and frames in documents.

• Identify attaching and modifying behavior.
• Identify testing for browser compatibility and broken links.
• Identify how to create site reports.
• Identify how to set up a remote site and publishing a site.

The audience for this course includes End Users and Application Developers. Students should have basic knowledge of computer graphics, HTML, and Web-page design.

Unit 1: Dreamweaver 4: An Introduction

• Select the Dreamweaver 4 work area element that can be used for a specified purpose.
• Install an extension by using the menu bar.
• Define a local site by using the menu bar.
• Edit information about an existing site by using the menu bar.

Unit 2: Dreamweaver 4: Documents

• Set the properties of a document by using the menu bar.
• Modify text properties in a document by using the Property inspector.
• Insert an image with specified requirements in a document by using the menu bar.
• Insert a rollover in a document by using the menu bar.
• Insert a Flash button in a document by using the menu bar.
• Insert Flash text in a document by using the menu bar.
• Modify the properties of a Flash object by using the Property inspector.
• Insert a Flash movie in a document by using the menu bar.
• Insert audio files in a document by using the menu bar.
• Insert assets in a document by using the Assets panel.
