Course Overview
This curriculum introduces Web design concepts, page layout, usability, navigation, graphics and multimedia. Other topics covered include Web technologies, Web site development tools, basics of using Microsoft FrontPage, Macromedia Dreamweaver and Allaire HomeSite, JASC Paint Shop, in addition to advanced Web design technologies and concepts, including XML, HTTP servers, cookies, plug-ins, Java applets, databases and standards organizations. This curriculum consists of five Skill Builder courses: Course 87021 CIW Site Designer Part 1: Web Design Concepts and Site Development Course 87022 CIW Site Designer Part 2: Basic Web Technologies Course 87023 CIW Site Designer Part 3: Using FrontPage, Dreamweaver and HomeSite Course 87024 CIW Site Designer Part 4: Using Paint Shop Pro, Flash, JavaScript and DHTML Course 87025 CIW Site Designer Part 5: Advanced Web Technologies and Web Site Publishing

Audience
The target audiences for this curriculum are End Users, Application Developers. Additionally, Web authors, marketing and communications professionals, PR professionals, Webmasters, graphic designers, technical writers, and library scientists. Learners will have completed either the CIW Foundations certification or the i-Net+ certification. Both of these provide a foundational knowledge about Internet networking, servers and clients, design and development, security, and using the Internet for business. This curriculum helps prepare candidates for exam 1D0-420. This curriculum can also be taken by individuals who want to improve their job skills.
