Course Overview
The Linux Technology Overview Curriculum provides background knowledge about Linux, and explains what factors businesses should consider when determining if they should use it. Students will learn what Linux is, its history, what it can be used for, and the risks and benefits of using it. Additionally, this curriculum provides more detailed information about how to use Linux, it teaches the technical features of Linux, using the shell system, using the X Window system and finding additional Linux resources. It focuses on end user tasks, not system administration tasks. This curriculum consists of two Skill Builder courses: Course 13611 Linux Technology Overview Part 1: Technical and Business Considerations Course 13612 Linux Technology Overview Part 2: Features for Users
