Training Provided by 123-CBT Computer Based Training This course gives an introduction and basic explanation of the Microsoft .NET Platform and its components, including the .NET Enterprise Servers (BizTalk Server, Application Center, Host Integration Center, Mobile Information Center Internet Security and Acceleration Server and SQL Server) as well as development tools and technologies (XML, ASP.NET, Visual Studio.NET, and SOAP). Other areas such as Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration (UDDI) and the .NET user experiences are also addressed at a high level. This course introduces the learner to the context of the .NET technology initiative, placing it in light of its response to current limitations in Internet technology and application integration, and emphasizing its importance as the 'Next Generation Internet'. The Distributed Computing Model is discussed as well as the foundational importance of XML Web Services. The course also gives an overview of the .NET Platform, discussing each of the five core elements of the platform. The majority of this course is devoted to a high-level discussion of the .NET Framework. The Common Language Runtime system is covered, along with a high-level introduction to the following elements of the .Net Framework: ASP.NET, Visual Studio.NET, Visual Basic.NET, ADO.NET and C#.
