This course covers the basics and best practices for upgrading various types of hardware. This course is divided into three units: Basic Upgrades, Peripheral Upgrades and System Resources, and Performance Monitoring. The Basic Upgrades unit covers memory types, memory modules, and memory installation and upgrade. The Peripheral Upgrades and System Resources unit covers network cards, peripheral cards, and diagnostic tools. The Performance Monitoring unit covers baseline, documenting performance, and evaluating performance.

This series is intended for mid- and upper-level technicians who are interested in enhancing and certifying their skills in areas that include RAID, SCSI, and multiple CPUs. It is assumed that the audience will have the equivalent of 18-24 months on-the-job experience with industry standard technologies.
