123-CBT Computer Based Training
The goal of this course is to present the learner with the fundamentals of telecommunications and to give a comprehensive introduction to analog and digital concepts. The course covers the history of telecommunications and looks at the structure of business systems (including station sets, PBX, key and hybrid systems, ISDN and broadband), CPE, and services (dedicated and switched). The course then covers analog signals, its history and associated variables. It finishes with a coverage of digital systems, its advantages over analog, and including such aspects as Pulse Code Modulation, Time Division Multiplexing, optical standards and loop carriers.

  • T asked: Hello. I live in Fort McMurray Alberta, and I work for the oilsands as a heavy equipment operator. I really would like to get into telecommunications for a possible job opening for hardware tech in the mine. Looking after the mine radio and as well as the dispatch system. Now I dont have much experience so I wanted to see if there were any telecommunication courses on line so I didnt have to drive to hrs south to go do it in school.
