Interpersonal Communication: Effective Communication will help you develop the skills needed to communicate a message effectively by identifying the receiver, choosing a proper channel, and responding to feedback. Simulation Overview:
Each of the simulations allows you to practice the skills learned in the instructional content. You will enter realistic scenarios in which you will interact with a variety of individuals. By using the knowledge you have gained, you control the outcome of each simulation.
Unit 2: The Communication Process(0.5 - 1 hour)
Understand how the receiver influences the phrasing of a message.
Identify the various kinds of receivers.
Distinguish between the different kinds of communication channels.
Choose an effective channel based on network structures.
Respond effectively to receiver feedback.
Simulation Overview:
In this simulation, you will be meeting with several of your employees to discuss the fourth quarter promotional package for your division. You must clear up a miscommunication regarding the correct discount for the Alpha line's products.
Unit 3: Interference to Effective Communication(0.5 - 1 hour)
Recognize what types of physical interference affect communication.
Identify verbal and nonverbal interference.
Choose the appropriate language.
Understand how emotions affect communication.
Distinguish between positive and negative organizational climates.
Simulation Overview:
In this simulation, you will meet with three of your managers to discuss problems the company's rapid growth is causing. There have been several problems regarding your division's ability to fill customer orders. Each manager has already taken actions to correct the problem, but they have not communicated with one another.
