  • In this simulation, you will meet with Greg Baldwin, one of Icon's Product Managers, to discuss persuasion and its role in giving effective presentations. Through your questions, you will learn about the challenges of using persuasion and how to persuade an audience ethically.
Unit 2: Preparing to Persuade (0.5 - 1 hour)
  • Complete audience analysis.
  • Apply two goals of persuasion.
  • Identify the five categories in Maslow's hierarchy of needs.
  • Use three types of persuasive proposition.
  • Use steps to encourage the audience to act in support of your policy.
  • Simulation Overview:
  • In this simulation, you will meet with David Morris, one of the Engineers who designed Icon's Worldwide Network Solution, and Donna Albert, an Account Executive responsible for international sales. You will assist them with planning a presentation to introduce the IWNS at the International Exhibition. Icon's research shows that the majority of companies attending the International Exhibition are multinational corporations with large operational structures.

  • Organize your persuasive presentation using three major sections.
