  • Follow the guidelines in the GOALS acronym.
  • In the simulation at the end of this unit, you are a graphics team leader who is meeting Bob Carter, Sydney Morrison, and Jeff Harris, new graphics artists who have recently joined your team. You need to explain to your team members the benefits of goal setting and discuss the guidelines for setting effective goals.
Unit 2: Setting Goals (0.5 - 1 hour)
  • Identify the characteristics of effective goals.
  • Develop effective goals.
  • Identify the guidelines for self-managing goals.
  • Follow the guidelines for self-managing goals.
  • In the simulation at the end of this unit, you are a graphics team leader. You are meeting with Sydney Morrison, a member of your team to help her set personal goals.
Unit 3: Facilitating Effective Goal Setting (1 - 2 hours)
  • Identify the areas for which you should set self-development goals.
  • Identify the guidelines for increasing goal-achievement probability.
  • Utilize the guidelines for increasing goal-achievement probability.
  • In the simulation at the end of this unit, you are a member of the Finance department. You want to attend a mentor-training course, but you must first prove to Nancy Hurst, your manager, that you have a thorough understanding of goal setting.
