In "Delegation: Monitoring and Evaluating Results," you will learn how examine such areas as how to review delegates, how to maintain task boundaries, how to support delegates, and how to deal with delegates who offer resistance. Delegates need to be assisted in their development through coaching, trust and motivation, and this course teaches strategies in all these fields. To help them to get the best results from delegates, delegators are taught the value of delegation planning, as well as communication and time management skills and overcoming obstacles to delegation.

Simulation Overview: In the simulation at the end of this unit, you are the Brand Manager in Icon's Marketing department. You have decided to delegate two tasks, review and communication, to Ronald Spear, Marketing Assistant and Lan Nguyen, Marketing Team Leader. You will assign these tasks, provide support and encouragement, and review their performance.
Unit 2:Developing Delegates (0.5 - 1 hour)
Identify guidelines for determining employee needs.
List the key components of effective coaching.
Identify the characteristics of effective coaches.
List reasons why delegators often lack trust in delegates.
Simulation Overview: In the simulation at the end of this unit, you will meet with Matthew Stevenson, Marketing Assistant with Icon International. Matthew has requested more responsibilities concerning the release of Icon's new phone product in addition to his current tasks. You will identify whether you should trust Matthew with this responsibility, determine Matthew 's needs, and sequence the steps of the coaching process.
Unit 3: Getting the Best Results (1 - 2 hours)
List four steps to help you implement your delegation plan.
Identify indicators of a negative attitude toward delegation.
Identify types of difficult delegates.
Identify guidelines for improving communication skil
