Integrated Risk Management

Business Process Management

RANA International Inc.
Training Provided by RANA International Inc. A Step-By-Step approach to taking risk decisions and managing their implementation in the organization.

So, You Want to Take a Risk, Do You?

Risk taking in organizations is not the way of the future. It is the way, now. Few senior people have realized the importance of understanding risk and applying a consistent approach to taking and rolling out the Risk Decision. Consequently, many risk decisions are taken without fully understanding the impact on the organization, or without performing the due diligence required.

All kinds of organizations take risks: the public organization responsible for regulating air travel, the school board accountable for the safety of our children, the large hi-tech firm with many thousands of employees, the university that chooses to put one program over another. All of these share the need for a high quality framework to follow, aimed at ensuring that all factors are taken into account.

The goal here is not analytical paralysis. Nor is it to kill every creative idea in the organization. Rather, it is to walk into an opportunity or a risk, with eyes wide open. Risk Management saves time in the long run, and does not take significantly more time than winging it, and then suffering the possible consequences of a bad decision.

The Risk Management process offered during this Workshop is based on Canadian Standards Association Q-850 for Risk Management and Decision Making, with all of the sub-routines worked out. It constitutes a toolbox for the Risk Manager to increase confidence in the decision to be taken and rolled out.
