Course Content
This customized Cisco course is a five-day course intended for personnel who
will implement, configure, and support a Cisco IP telephony solution. It is a combination of CIPT1 and CIPT2.
The course prepares you for installing, configuring, and maintaining a Cisco IP telephony solution. It focuses on Cisco CallManager, the call routing and signaling component for the Cisco IP telephony solution, and covers new features in CallManager 4.0 such as security, video, and conference. It includes point-to-point video calls for appropriate video-enabled endpoints, video conferencing, Cisco CallManager Attendant Console, Cisco IP Softphone, Extension Mobility, security features for hardening of applications and hardware for VoIP, and command-line tools and monitoring devices that Cisco provides for troubleshooting voice and data networks.
This course includes lab practice where you will install and configure Cisco CallManager; configure gateways, gatekeepers, and switches; build route plans to place intra- and intercluster Cisco IP phone calls; configure Cisco CallManager Attendant Console, Cisco IP SoftPhone, Cisco IP Communicator, and Extension Mobility; configure IP phone authentication and encryption in Cisco Call Manager. You will also configure telephony class of service (CoS), numerous user telephone features, and media resources.
The class may not cover all topics or cover the material in the same order as listed in the individual course descriptions due to the accelerated nature of this course.
