Essentials of Business Law: Employment Law offers the student an overview of employment law essentials. This program identifies the elements of agent and principal relationships, the duties of agents and principals, and ways in which agreements between these two parties are ratified. The program also identifies fair labor laws and labor and management issues, including actions that constitute wrongful discharge and a violation of employee rights. In addition, the program covers anti-discrimination legislation and defines which actions violate these laws. The program also includes ways for employers to deal with claims of discrimination as well as methods to prevent discriminatory actions from occurring.

In this simulation, you will meet with Ronald Spear, one of Icon a a s human resource managers, to discuss employment laws. In order to increase your understanding of workplace privacy rights and the components of wrongful discharge, Ron will be presenting a series of scenarios for you to evaluate. These scenarios will cover a wide range of topics, from employment regulations to labor and management issues, and they will test your ability to make the correct decision when placed in a complex situation.
