This course covers the general concepts of radio signal transmission. It identifies how radio technologies, including spread spectrum technologies, are used by Wireless LANs. The WLAN Industry Requirements section explores the purpose of governing the spectrum band and includes coverage of the FCC guidelines and IEEE specifications. The course also provides a basic overview of the main WLAN devices and topologies. Basic antenna theory is also introduced, including concepts for WLAN antenna selection and use.
