  • Simulation Overview: You are the Director of Development at Icon International. You are co-chairing a three-month review of Junior IT Manager, Matt Green with Katherine Cavanaugh, Senior IT Manager. You are concerned that Matt's team won't meet the IT departmental quarterly target of developing new software for the development team. Matt has mentioned privately to you that he's worried about how he can deal effectively with conflict. You will give him feedback about his general progression in the role and on his team's performance.

  • Simulation Overview: You are a project manager with Icon International. You've been appointed by Katherine Cavanaugh, Senior IT Manager, to manage the Reservation project. The project involves adding more features to the popular Reservation database. This project is in response to requests from some of Icon's major clients, who have asked for more functionality in areas such as greater data collection, specialized reports, financial statistics, and online analytical processing. Katherine wants this project to succeed because Icon's main competitor has recently announced the release of an enhanced reservations database. Icon is afraid it will lose existing customers and fail to attract new clients if they do not undertake to design a new version of the database. The IT Team Lead, Mike Miller, is concerned about the effect this will have on his team's resources.
