Adobe Photoshop CS2 is the standard image editing application used by the majority of design professionals throughout the world. It offers incredible creative freedom both in terms of manipulating exisiting images, creating new art work, and integrating all design elements. Photoshop CS2 also supports vector graphics, easy automation, and a wide range of other improved features, including the brilliant new Adobe Bridge, vanishing point effects, one-click red-eye correction and much more. If you re serious about working in the creative industries, it s no exaggeration to say that you must know this application.
In this two day beginners course in Adobe Photoshop CS2, you will learn the basics of image manipulation and creation with this powerful tool. Learning how to create accurate selections to modfiy with Photoshop s tools will form a key part of the training (including Quick masks), as will understanding layers, using colour and transparency, and adjusting images to improve their quality/suitability for their intended publication. You will also look at Photoshop s vector/path drawing tools, use its improved type engine, work with clipping paths, blending modes and flters. There will also be opportunity to experiment with images for your particular publication to ensure that you have the required skills to do your job before leaving the training. Finally, you'll also take a look at some of CS 2's cool new features, including Adobe Bridge, the Spot Healing Brush, and more.
By the end of this course you will be create artwork with confidence in a range of styles. You will also be able to perform professional enchancements and modifications to exisiting images. Finally, you will be able to convert or save these images/artwork for professional output.

Adobe Photoshop CS2 - Two Day Introduction Training Course
The following is a general outline. The range of topics covered during your training is dependent upon student level, time available and preferences of your course booking.
Getting Started with Photoshop CS
-Workspaces, Palettes, the File Browser
-Tool Palette: explanation of each tool and its options.
-Use of the Navigator palette: how to view the image you are working on easily and quickly.
-Use of the Options Palette: how it changes for each tool selected.
Selections and Erasing
-Use the marquee, lasso, and magic wand tools to select parts of an image in various ways
-Reposition a selection marquee
-Use of the Quick mask mode to fine-tune a selection
-Move and duplicate a selection
-Constrain the movement of a selection
-Add to and subtract from selections
-Rotate, scale, and transform a selection
-Crop an image
Levels & Curves
-Improving the black/white balance in images
Layers
-Organise your artwork on layers
-Create a new layer, view and hide layers
-Remove artwork on layers
-Reorder layers & applying modes to layers
-Link layers to affect them simultaneously
-Add text and layer effects to a layer
-Save a copy of the file with the layers flattened
-Blending modes
Using Brushes and other drawing/editing tools
-The Paintbrush tool
-Brushes and the Rubber Stamp (clone) tool
