This is an accredited, self-paced online Anatomy and Physiology course. The program introduces learners with little or no prior biology knowledge to anatomy and physiology. Course content is presented according to body systems, and focuses on the body working together to promote homeostasis. Mastery of key concepts is encouraged with full-color art, animations, and audio playback. The course contains multiple exercises, games, quizzes and tests to reinforce learning. Everything students need to complete the class is contained online. The course is perfect for non-medical professionals who want to learn anatomy and physiology to pursue a field in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industries.

Fundamentals of Anatomy & Physiology
The Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology online course can be taken for a certificate, which is good for 9. 5 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) or 3 college credit hours. The cost is $318 for the certificate and $618 for college credits. Pima Community College (regionally accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schoos) awards the college credits, issues letter grades and provides transcripts.
Students have access to the course for one year, but may complete it as quickly as they would like since it is entirely self-paced. (Participants do not have to interact with any other students or an instructor.)
Final scores are dependent on the exams, which are all online. Students must receive a score of 70 or above on the exams, but they have the opportunity to take the exams up to three times each. The exams are not timed.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
* Define anatomic terms of the human body as related to directions and geometric planes
* Describe the major cavities and the organs they contain
* Match anatomic terms with the appropriate physiology
* Illustrate the anatomical location of the components of a cell and explain their function
* Identify the major constituents in the blood and lymph systems and differentiate the roles played by each
* Identify the anatomical structures in the digestive system and relate them to the aspects of digestion
