This course will provide participants with a better understanding of team dynamics and the roles and responsibilities of all team members. It can also be used to address areas not usually covered during team development programmes, for example, the internal politics within a team, and how teams can work successfully with others within the organisation. It is recommended both for team members, and for team leaders.

Effective Team Working We aim to ensure that our bespoke training is flexible, and meets the individual needs of our customers. Roles and Responsibilities: Considering the different roles that members of the team take; encouraging responsibility towards the group as a whole

Team Dynamics: Understanding the dynamics between team members; recognising and working with people s strengths and weaknesses

Managing Diversity: Recognising the importance of diversity for enhanced team performance; respecting and accommodating the diverse needs of team members

Time and Stress Management: Understanding the time pressures of team working; learning how o avoid pressurising others; team solutions to stress

Effective Communication: Communicating information to colleagues; developing a collaborative style

Effective Meeting Skills: Using meetings to their best advantage and avoiding common time wasters

Strategic Planning: Identifying and achieving team goals by setting SMART objectives; the rules of planning; following an effective planning process

Team Negotiations: Taking specified roles; working within the five key stages of negotiation to reach win/win solutions

Decision Making and Problem Solving: Using a six stage model of effective decision-making and problem solving; implementing and evaluating decisions and solutions

Making and Receiving Requests: Using assertive communication to make and receive requests positively and professionally

Giving and Receiving Feedback: Understanding the importance and value of giving and receiving honest, clear, constructive and timely feedback

Managing Conflict: Identifying potential sources of conflict within the team; learning to respond positively and professionally to conflict when it arises

Action Planning: Identifying continuing personal development needs and extending learning into the workplace.
