Presentation Skills for Librarians
This course will focus on the area of presentation skills for librarians. Students will learn how their organization and presentation of information, as well as presentation of themselves, affect the audience’s receptiveness.
Although venues for communicating are quite different – traditional face-to-face workshops, self-paced courses and full-time interactive web-based courses – the basic presentation skills still apply.
This course is for 2 CE credits.

Objectives:
Identify three ways you can improve your next conference presentation
Discover three ways you can improve your next informal presentation
List at least three ways to identify each of the three learning/communication styles.
This course addresses these issues and more in a web-based course designed to take about 2 hours to complete.
Assessment:
This course is self-directed and assessments are graded immediately upon completion.

This lesson discusses the elements that are important to consider when formulating your message: Knowing the target audience, involving the listeners, and creating effective content using logical structure, visual aids, handouts, questions and more.
Presentation Techniques: The Style
Addresses topics such as physical appearance, voice quality, relaxation techniques, facial expressions and more.
