Students will learn how their organization and presentation of information, as well as presentation of themselves, affect the audience?s receptiveness. Although venues for communicating are quite different ? traditional face-to-face workshops, self-paced courses and full-time interactive web-based courses ? the basic presentation skills still apply.
This course is for 2 CE credits.

Public Speaking and Communications - An Introduction An introduction to the course and its objectives. Learning Styles This lesson discusses the various learning styles and how those styles will impact how you design and prepare your presentation. Presentation Techniques: The Message This lesson discusses the elements that are important to consider when formulating your message: Knowing the target audience, involving the listeners, and creating effective content using logical structure, visual aids, handouts, questions and more. Presentation Techniques: The Style Addresses topics such as physical appearance, voice quality, relaxation techniques, facial expressions and more.

- Identify three ways you can improve your next conference presentation
- Discover three ways you can improve your next informal presentation
- List at least three ways to identify each of the three learning/communication styles.
