This course is offered by a State Accredited University and offers State Board Continuing Education credits for Michigan teachers. If you are located in a state other than Michigan, please check to see if your State Board will honor the Continuing Education Credit.

Lesson 1 - Initial Steps to Convert a Traditional Course into an Online Course This lesson begins by giving an overview of learning styles and elements of instructional design and how they influence the online course environment.? Online courses are compared to their on-the-ground counterparts. Lesson 2 - Course Management Software Lesson 2 compares the use of course management software and using less organized methods such as web sites and discussion boards for online teaching and learning.? References for free trials of a number of products are mentioned. Lesson 3 - Description of Online Course Components The components typically found in online courses are discussed in this lesson.? Suggestions for quality components are presented. Lesson 4 - Look and Feel This lesson covers design techniques for online documents and offers tips on integrating visuals and multimedia into an online course.

- describe and apply the role of static visuals and multimedia elements in online courses.
Assessment
Grading Policies:? This course is self-directed and assessments are graded immediately upon completion. Please check your success in the Tools, Gradebook area. Assessments can be re-taken any time during the course. This course allows you to earn 1 SB-CEU which is available to anyone completing the course with a 70% or better passing score.
