If you are located in a state other than Michigan, please check to see if your State Board will honor the Continuing Education Credit.

Introduction to WebQuests
Outcomes
The objective of this training is to help assist you with the development of a WebQuest draft for your own class. After c ompleting this course, you should be able to do the following:
- Encourage inquiry-based learning using the Internet.
- Develop and assess an online curriculum (WebQuest) delivered via the Web.
- Fine-tune Internet searches in order to obtain the most relevant information.
- Evaluate information portrayed on various websites.
- Develop and implement rubrics for evaluating WebQuests.
- Have a solid understanding of the WebQuest design process.
Grading Policies:? This course is self-directed and assessments are graded immediately upon completion. Please check your success in the Tools, Gradebook area. Assessments can be re-taken any time during the course. This course allows you to earn 1 SB-CEU which is available to anyone completing the course with a 70% or better passing score.
Lesson 1 - Introduction to WebQuest In this lesson, an overview of WebQuest's evolution and the concepts with which the program was written are presented. Lesson 2 - Introduction Phase This lesson introduces the WebQuest mapping technique.? Detailed information on writing a comprehensive introduction to your WebQuest project are presented. Lesson 3 - Task Phase Lesson 3 details the Task Phase of a WebQuest project. Tasks from beginning to end are detailed along with suggestions on how to reuse a WebQuest project.? Lesson 4 - Process Phase The Process Phase of a WebQuest? is critical to student success.? This lesson covers tips on student instructions, options for student presentation and guidelines for group projects. Lesson 5 - Information Sources Phase This lesson identifies appropriate resources for students along with supporting resources and timeline information. Lesson 6 - Guidance and Evaluation Phase Lesson 6 provides information on how to evaluate and grade a WebQuest? project.? Information on assessing student knowledge is also covered. Lesson 7 - Conclusion Phase This lesson covers the final phase of a project referred to as the conclusion.?
