Team building programmes in the outdoors
Training
Provided by Wide Aware
Experiential programmes in the outdoors designed around action based learning through outdoor adventure and team building activities developed specifically for drawing attention to various aspects of group dynamics.
Team building games are used to generate behavioural data and reviewed in the presence of a facilitator to troubleshoot issues that detract from efficiency in team operations and bring conscious attention to factors that enhance performance.

Team building programmes in the outdoors
The programme is based on two or three activity sessions a day, comprising one to three team building or adventure activities. The actual number of activities and duration of the session depends on the nature of the activity.
Each activity is designed so that it has clear parameters defining success or failure or even the degree of success or failure, which leave no ambiguity about the results. The results are then reviewed with an objective of identifying elements of behaviour that contributed to the result, and what can be done about enhancing or minimizing them as desired.
A strategy is formulated for behavioural adaptation in the next activity, and then put into action and the results reviewed again, and so on.
Behaviour is a core element of our personality, and many instinctive responses and approaches are constant regardless of the environment the subject is in.Thus, it becomes possible to analyze problems and address them without threatening a participants self-worth as it would, if behaviour were analyzed in a professional context. The stakes being low and environment non-threatening in "teambuilding games" facilitates the easy acceptance of feedback and experimentation with change.
The repeated cycle of doing >> reviewing >> analyzing >> strategizing >> doing...... allows new behaviour to be fine tuned and adapted to.
