The project shall be based on a biological question which can be answered using already-existing or in-house bioinformatics tools. A list of suggested topics is available below but you may also choose your own, subject to approval.

TOPICS

The ACS offers various R&D projects in the area of bioinformatics leading towards product and process development specific to the following areas

DATABASE DEVELOPMENT
1:Integration of databases and software packages for addressing complex issues in Biotechnology
2:Development of Value added, dedicated and derived databases such as SNP, EST etc. on various genomes, Immunoinformatics, regulatory genomics, plants & microbial genomic
3:Development of databases related to plants genomic & analysis data.
4:Development of databases related to Drug Designing.
5.:Development of clinical information databases of different diseases

SOFTWARE DEVLOLOPMENT
1:Development of new software tools for genomic, proteomics, immunoinformatics, transcriptomics, sequence alignment, gene prediction, cellular functions and metabolic pathways

2:Development of teaching & e-learning modules in Bioinformatics

COMPUTER AIDED DRUG DESIGNING (CADD)
1:In silico docking/scoring

2:ADME and Toxicity prediction

3:Pharmacophore modeling .

SAMPLE TOPICS:
1:Analysis and development of bioinformatics tool for the proteasomal cleavage site prediction.
2:Analysis and development of bioinformatics tool for the MHC class II binding site prediction.
3:Comparative Study of prediction tools for MHC I binding site prediction.
