Workplace Diversity

PsyAsia International
Workplaces are full of conflict. Conflict occurs between team members, between those of different teams and departments, between management and lower level staff and between the front-line and the external environment - the client/ customer. This one-day event tackles conflict and provides attendees with a toolbox of skills for reducing, managing and negotiating conflict.
The course has been designed to be applicable to any level of employee within an organization and, in fact, the more that different levels are represented, the more dynamic and interesting the explorations and discussions become. That said, we can customize the course as necessary to be more meaningful to a particular group. For example, previous clients have been interested in only training their executives. Armed with an understanding of what these people do via the initial organizational meeting, we can ensure that our facilitators cover the most pertinent and salient issues specific to any group.
At the end of the course, delegates will have a fuller understanding of what conflict is, their conflict style and conflict management style as well as those of others. They will be able to effectively prepare for negotiation and use their communication skills to reduce conflict and misunderstanding in the workplace. The above is achieved by way of presentations, written exercises and practical small group exercises facilitated by experienced organizational psychologists.

  • E asked: To Whom It May Concern: I, , was born on September , in Tbilisi. In I graduated from Tbilisi Gimnasium # and then proceeded my education at Tbilisi State University, Department of Journalism. After several years of instant journalistic practice, now I can conclude that I am a high skilled journalist with a years experience. During the period of working as a reporter I have been reporting news from different regions of Georgia, in particular conflict zones. Among them: South Ossetia, Pankisi Gorge. I used to take interviews from some criminal and extremist religious group members while reporting for Georgian newspapers. Therefore, I have significant experience of working in hot spots, however, current developments that took place in Georgia (Russian-Georgian war in August ) have clearly demonstrated that Georgian journalist lack knowledge and skills of operating in conflict zones. Journalists in Georgia need to have tools and techniques to protect themselves while performing their duties in complicated surrounding, especially during escalation of conflicts and open military actions. Since there is little possibilities in Georgia for obtaining such skills I decided to apply to your institution to improve my knowledge and skills for better working in open conflicts; it is very important for me to join an institution specialized on military journalism. At the moment I am working at a Caucasus Initiativea which aims at strengthening cooperation and interaction between Caucasus peoples and reporting unbiased information on the regional developments, human rights protection, protection of womena ™s rights. I will highly appreciate if you give me an opportunity to join your institution for further professional growth. It will definitely assist me to be equipped with necessary knowledge and skills that afterwards I will share with my Georgian colleagues. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Sincerely,
