Credit Analysis - Techniques and Applications Content overview:

Session 1 Examines Techniques of Cashflow Projection, the significance of cashflow ratios and the use of sensitivity analysis.

Session 2 Dealing with Problem Loans. Beginning with defining problem loans in terms of cashflow, it then outlines their typical features. The module illustrates a cycle of activities for dealing with problem loans and offers a full case study and description of the main legal issues affecting problem loans in the UK when insolvency approaches.

Session 3, Analysing Banks and Insurance Companies, is a two part module each beginning with an overview of the market and regulatory environment. This is followed by guidelines on spreading the financial information and analysing it using ratios.

Session 4, Fundamentals of Project Finance, begins with a definition of project finance and the rationale behind it. It then goes on to outline the organisations involved, the main risks, the methods of financial evaluation and the loan and lease structures used. Lastly it covers security measures that can be taken to minimise risk.

Session 5, Credit Case Studies, consists of six case studies and a disk containing a forecasting model pre-loaded with the same data. The model allows you to create five-year forecasts of the balance sheet, profit and loss and cashflow.
