<ul> Medical emergencies can occur at anytime but may be hidden because of injuries suffered in an accident, or an accident may trigger a medical emergency such as a heart attack, stroke, or seizure. This one-hour training will focus on the signs and symptoms of specific medical emergencies and their treatment. Being trained in first aid could mean the difference between life and death. Note: This training should not be used as the primary basis for any first aid certification. It is intended to provide the learner with knowledge-based training only. This training should be accompanied with a performance-based component provided by a certified first aid instructor. The content in this course is designed to comply with the intent of the applicable regulatory requirements. <li>describe how to respond appropriately to a medical emergency <li>recall the signs, symptoms, and first aid treatment of the following medical emergencies: -choking -poisoning -heart attacks -respiratory distress -stroke -seizure All employees
