In this hands-on lab course, learn how to perform the day-to-day administrative and application development tasks for IBM WebSphere Portal V5.1. Develop the necessary skills for an administrator, architect, or developer to administer WebSphere Portal. Portal administrators see how to perform such tasks as portlet deployment, portal page creation, document management using Document Manager and Web Content Manager, configure Virtual Portals and many other administrative tasks. Also, discuss approaches involving portal design and implementation.
Experience a single point of interaction with dynamic information, applications, processes, and individuals to help build Business-to-Employee (B2E), Business-to-Business (B2B), and Business-to-Consumer (B2C) portals. Application developers build skills and knowledge to code robust portlet applications. Experienced application developers develop the skills and knowledge to code robust Java Specification Request (JSR)168 based portlet applications using the portal tooling of IBM Rational Application Developer.
