Course description:
Pro Tools 101 will provide an overview of the workings of one of the industry s most popular recording applications. Course participants will gain hands-on experience with Pro Tools 7.1.1 and MIDI controllers under the guidance of a certified Pro Tools instructor.
Prerequisites:
Enrollment is open to anyone seriously interested in the field of professional audio production and music recording; no previous experience is necessary.
What You Will Learn:
File structure and navigation
Edit tools and edit modes
Time scales, ruler views and MIDI controls
How to create and manage tracks
How to save, locate and open sessions
Steps to making your first recording
How to import media into your session
Steps to making your first MIDI recording
Basic editing techniques
Basic mixing techniques
How to manage and finalize a session
Equipment:
The Recording Arts Center will provide a computer workstation for each participant preloaded with course-relevant software and music. Each participant will receive a copy of Pro Tools 101 Official Courseware, 3rd edition by Didgidesign and Frank Cook.
