Course description:
An in-depth study of signal processing using WAVES plug-ins that is designed to give the student a full understanding of the major categories of signal processors and their functions and features. Although this course is designed around WAVES plug ins, students will learn enough information and vocabulary to apply the same techniques using other software- and hardware-based signal processors.
Prerequisites:
Enrollment is open to anyone seriously interested in the field of professional audio production and music recording; no previous experience is necessary.
What You Will Learn:
Installation and authorization of Waves plug-ins
Features and usage of EQ processors (featuring the Waves Renaissance EQ)
Features and usage of compressors (featuring the Waves Renaissance Compressor and the C1 Parametric Compander)
Features and usage of reverb (featuring the Waves Renaissance Reverb)
Features and usage of delays (featuring the Waves SuperTap)
Equipment:
The Recording Arts Center will provide a Pro Tools LE/M Box 2 computer workstation for each participant, an iLok (which students will use to authorize their own fully functional versions of the plug-ins covered in the course), and a copy of the Signal Processing with Waves Plug-Ins official courseware.
