Course description:
Learn how to turn your computer into a music making machine! In this course you will dive into real-world production techniques and learn the creative applications of this powerful tool. You will also learn the basics of software synths, drum machines, samplers and sequencing, as well as how to integrate Reason with Pro Tools to enhance your existing productions.
Prerequisites:
Enrollment is open to anyone seriously interested in the field of professional audio production and music recording; basic computer skills and music experience are recommended. Basic Pro Tools knowledge is a plus.
What You Will Learn:
Navigating Reason s sound banks
Basic MIDI theory
How to use Reason with Pro Tools
How the pros use the instruments and synths
Applying effects
Live applications
Mastering and getting your songs on CD
Equipment:
Studio West will provide a computer workstation for each participant preloaded with course-relevant software and music. Each participant will receive a course workbook and a copy of Reason 4 Ignite! By Eric D. Gebler and Chris Hawkins.
