DB2 -- Performance and Tuning

Affinity IT Training, LLC
This course provides experienced SQL developers with a fast-paced transition to DB2 performance and tuning. Following a review of the DB2 architecture, environment, and data structures, course coverage includes index internals, block index MDC ' s, access methods, and how to write effective SQL predicates. ' Explain ' tables and tools are covered in detail as well as additional performance tools. The optimizer is studied along with RUNSTATS to understand why index methods are chosen by the access plan. Then MQT ' s, database partitions and table partitions are explored and their relationships. Finally, monitoring with admin views is covered along with some performance suggestions Audience:SQL Developers with previous experience with DB2.

  • R asked: Looking for a classroom setting away from work (out-of-state, NH) for better concentration and focus. I want to learn more about interpreting the EXPLAIN results, and how RUNSTATS affects performance.
  • A asked: I would like to know how much is this class? Also, if it can be split up over weekends as I am currently working and will be busy during weekdays. Thanks.
  • S asked: Hi, How much does this course cost for an individual? When is the next time it is being offered and at what location?? Thanks..
  • asked: Could you please give me details about, your training program covers these topics? . Setup and manage database connections to AS/ DB . Performance monitoring/ enhancement for database connections to AS . AS connection pooling Also tell me what is the duration, cost of the training and is there any other branch in chennai. Thanks, Gandhimathi. B
