Learn basic first aid in order to assist anyone who has suffered some of the most common injuries such as cuts, scrapes, broken bones, heat stroke and heat exaustion, cardiac emergencies, strokes, choking, and other emergencies. Know what to carry in your vehicle to have ready to use when an emergency exists. Be the hero in your community and help those who may not be able to help themselves! Courses range from 3. 5 to 7 hours depending on whether or not CPR is included in the course instruction.

Basic First Aid
The American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid Course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. THe participant will know what items to carry in a first aid kit and what to have on hand in any emergency.
Course content includes General Principles, Medical Emergencies, and Injury Emergencies. Optional topics include CPR and AED, and Environmental Emergencies.
A written examination (First Aid) and skills test (CPR and AED) must be successfully completed in order to receive a course completion card at the course end.
Course length will be approximately 7 1/ 2 hours with Infant CPR or 6 1/ 2 hours without Infant CPR. First Aid only will be approximately 3 1/ 2 hours and will cost $30. 00.
