Certificate Program Provided by HAZMAT Plans & Programs, Inc This OSHA 10 Hour Outreach Training for Construction is Instructor Led training. This OSHA safety class is held in our Denver, Colorado Training Facility. The OSHA 10 Hour Construction Outreach is an introduction course that teaches employees how to recognize hazards on the job site. Students will also learn what specific OSHA regulations apply to the work they perform. This training can be taught in a standard generic form or may be customized to provide your construction workers with the specific safety training they really need. HP&P has been teaching OSHA Outreach training since 1998. We currently have three OSHA Authorized trainers on-staff. The OSHA 10 Hour Construction Outreach training course is offered twice monthly at our training facility located in Aurora, CO, a convenient 15 minute drive from Downtown Denver, the Denver Tech area (DTC) and Denver International Airport (DIA). OSHA 10 Hour Construction Outreach The OSHA 10 Hour Construction Outreach Training course follows the recommended OSHA training format.

There are four (4) mandatory topics of at least one-half hour to one hour each covered in this safety course:

1. Introduction to OSHA, an overview of OSHA safety regulations and the general duty clause. Employee rights and responsibilities. (1 Hour)

2. OSHA Focus Four (2 Hours):
(a) Fall Protection, Subpart M, how to recognize and avoid
fall hazards.
(b) Electrical Safety, Subpart K, temporary power cords,
basic electrical knowledge and avoidance of hazards.
(c) Struck by (e. g., falling objects, trucks, cranes)
(d) Caught in/ between (e. g., trench hazards, equipment)

3. Personal Protective and Lifesaving Equipment, Subpart E
(30 minutes)

4. Health Hazards in Construction (e. g., noise, hazard
communication and crystalline silica) (30 minutes)

Elective topics- At least two topics adding up to at least
two hours - Minimum One-half hour each

1. Materials Handling, Storage, Use and Disposal,
Subpart H

2. Tools - Hand and Power, Subpart I

3. Scaffolds, Subpart L

4. Cranes, Derricks, Hoists, Elevators, & Conveyors,
Subpart N

5. Excavations, Subpart P

6. Stairways and Ladders, Subpart X

Additional 4 Hours -The remainder of the class time will be spent teaching other construction industry hazards or
policies and/ or expanding on the mandatory or elective
topics. This will be dictated by the subjects most useful to your employees.

Other topics can include:
Fire Protection and Prevention
Signs, Signals and Barricades
Tools, Hand and Power
Welding and Cutting
Steel Erection


This class takes place over one 10 hour day. A HP&P Safety wallet card and certificate will be presented to each student upon completion. A US Department of Labor OSHA wallet card will be obtained for each student who completes the course. These cards take approximately 4-6 weeks to arrive.
