Certificate Program

The cost for the IPC-A-610 training program is $700/ person. The next scheduled class will be during the month of December. Specific dates are not determined yet. The classes are held in the evenings on Mon, Tue, Wed, and Thurs, and span over two weeks. Classes can also be scheduled for Saturdays upon request. There is a minimum of 4 persons needed to confirm a class. Once 4 people are signed up the class is confirmed. And there is a maximum of 15 people allowed per class due to IPC policies. Currently there is one other person interested in the October training class.

December 2008 IPC-A-610 Training Class
4 Goals of IPC-A-610:
(1) Provide a standardized set of industry developed, recognized, approved and traceable training programs to enhance understanding and appropriate application of criteria in the standard.
(2) Provide an understanding of accept/ reject criteria to enhance an individual s motivation and ability to consistently and correctly apply the technical discrimination criteria.
(3) Teach methods and processes to improve an individual s skills and ability to achieve acceptable workmanship.
(4) Teach methods and techniques how to use, navigate, locate and to apply the criteria contained in a document to the appropriate class or classes of production

1 Introduction/ IPC Professional Policies and Procedures (1 hour lecture)
2 Foreword, Applicable Documents, & Handling (1 hour lecture & 1 hour open & closed book exams)
3 Hardware Installation (1. 5 hours lecture & 0. 5 hour open book exam)
4 Soldering, Including High Voltage(1. 5 hours lecture & 0. 5 hour open book exam)
5 Terminal Connections (2 hours lecture & 1 hour open book exam)
6 Through-Hole Technology (2 hours lecture & 1 hour open book
exam)
7 Surface Mount Assemblies (2. 5 hours lecture &1. 5 hours open book exam)
8 Component Damage and Printed Circuit Boards and Assemblies (1. 5 hours lecture & 0. 5 hour open book exam)
9 Solderless Wire Wrap (1. 5 hours lecture & 0. 5 hour open book exam)
