Test Estimation sometimes, even expert project managers have real trouble estimating the time and resources to allocate for testing. If there are no tools or methodology to support it, the estimation process is a nightmare for those responsible for it.
There are factors related to the process, factors arising out of the nature of the project, the tools in hand, the skill sets and mind sets of the resources available, and some complicating factors, that affect Test Estimation. It is important to combine good estimation techniques with an understanding of the factors that can influence effort, time, dependencies, and resources.
