Training
Provided by National Conflict Resolution Center
The program includes 2 weeks of Mediation Training: our 4-day Introductory Mediation Skills Course, and a 4-day Advanced Mediation Skills Course (64 hours of training).
The purpose of the Winter Institute is to provide a "one-shot" deal, in which someone interested in learning mediation can travel to San Diego, from anywhere in the world, and take either one or both courses.
The first week focuses on NCRC's classic facilitative mediation model while the second week provides an opportunity for deeper exploration of current issues in the field. You will hear from experts such as Bill Eddy and Uri Gneezy and participate in mediation simulations with actors. The agenda also includes topics such as: new techniques for dealing with impasse, negotiating over money, working with multiple parties, and adapting the model for specific situations. It also includes opportunities for individually supervised practice and coaching. The mediation techniques offered in this program will enhance your effectiveness in dealing with a wide range of professional and personal challenges.
