Our First Aid/ CPR course provides training in basic first aid and adult CPR procedures, with the opportunity for training in the use of automated external defibrillators (AED). This course is for persons assigned as first aid responders to emergencies in the workplace or community. The First Aid/ CPR training fulfills the requirements of OSHA standard, 29 CFR 1910. 151 and is taught by a HP&P Safety staff member, formerly a Registered Nurse.

OSHA's First Aid standard, 29 CFR 1910. 151 requires first aid providers at all work places of any size if there is no infirmary, clinic or hospital in near proximity to the workplace which is used for the treatment of all injured employees . First aid is the prompt, early response to health emergencies. Having First Aid/ CPR training gives one the ability to respond to virtually any medical emergency situation so that the victim can be given the best chance of survival until EMS gets there or until they arrive at the hospital.
In the First Aid/ CPR training class, students will learn
the proper techniques and procedures of administration for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid. The class will also discuss topics related to recognizing and responding to shock, cardiac and breathing emergencies, heat and cold emergencies, poisonings, sudden illnesses, the proper treatment of wounds and injuries and the Good Samaritan Law. Upon completion and passing of written and practical testing, Certification cards will be awarded.
Class includes a book, practical materials and exam. Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a Red Cross First Aid/ CPR card valid for (1) year.

Note: First Aid/ CPR training for Adults and/ or Infant/ Child is also available. This training is generally special scheduled on weekends. Minimum 6 per class. Group discount rates are also available.
