This course focuses on the fundamentals of using Illustrator's diverse tools. In this class you will spend the three days creating many different and complex objects. When you leave you will be able to:
- Understand the difference between vector and bitmap art
- Identify the best type of art for your project
- Analyze the differences in file formats and their purposes
- Create complex shapes by transforming simple shapes
- Comprehend tool bar basics
- Know when to use selection and direction selection tools on elements
- Edit existing paths
- Use the swatch palette to selecting and make new colors
- Turn simple paths into complex paths
- Alter paths using the pathfinder tools
- Utilize the five transformation tools
- Understand and use the pen tool
- Manipulate type for special effects and creating outlines
- Set type on custom curves and in shapes
- Apply join separate paths
- Make custom gradients
- Produce custom art brushes, fill patterns, and stroke patterns
- Manipulate the layers palette and objects in the layers palette
- Trace existing artwork
