Introduction to ArcGIS 9
PART I : GETTING STARTED WITH GIS: Map basics. Geographical data and feature-attribute spatial relationships. Data, Symbolization, Identify Location / Features, Find tools. Map document, Data Frame, Hyperlink, Bookmark, Labels. Data View / Layout View & its properties. Coordinates and Measurements. Raster & Vector Data. Query Data, Location and Attribute Query. Refine the selection. Analyze spatial relationships, Intersect (overlay), Buffer.
PART II: ArcCatalog: Geodatabase & Feature Class properties. Metadata. ArcMap: Layers, Symbology and data source. Map Document, Layers and Dataframe, Definition query, Scale range, Layer file. Symbolize Layer: Quantitative & Qualitative. Histograms, Classification methods, exclusion; Multi attibute symbols. Labels: Classes, Symbology, Expression, Placement. Annotation: Map and Geodatabase annotation, editing. Coordinate Systems and Map Projection. Map Layout: Templates, Map composition. Managing Tables: Sort, Summarize, Statistics, Field Calculations, Export, Graphs and Reports. Join and Relate non-spatial tables, compare tables. Editing: Update/ Modify, update multiple records, Snapping and Options. Create Geodatabases and Feature Classes, Building Address locator and Geocoding street address. Spatial problem solving: Select, Clip, Buffer, Intersect (overlay). Normal Template and Customization.
PART III : WORKFLOWS & ANALYSIS : Import data into the GDB, GDB Behaviour: Subtypes, Domains. Editing: Topological Edits, Error Inspector, Fix Topology Error Tool. Aligning Data: Spatial Adjustment & Georeferencing. Edge match, Define Projection. Geoprocessing Tools & Settings. Analyzing GIS data: Extract, Overlay, Join tables. Proximity, Thiessen Polygons. Building models. Model Builder. Model storage and parameters. Analysis projects.
