This Fall Protection and Fall Prevention course developed by HP&P Safety meets OSHA's training requirements found under 29 CFR 1926 500 Subpart M. It is an Instructor-Led "Competent Level" course held in our Denver, Colorado training facility. Next scheduled class date: March 2, 2012.
Students will learn the difference between Fall Protection and Fall Prevention and the applicable OSHA rules that apply to each. Students will also become familiar with using the Code of Federal of Regulations (CFR) to look up the General Requirements, Scope and Applications required by OSHA.
Topics of discussion include:
- General Requirements, Scope, Application and Definitions
- Competent Person Responsibilities
- Duty to Have Fall Protection
- Protection from Falling Objects
- Fall Protection Systems, Criteria and Practices
- Guardrail Systems
- Personal Fall Arrest Systems (PFAS)
- Positioning Device and Warning Line Systems
- Controlled Access Zones (CAZ)
- Safety Monitoring Systems
- Fall Protection Plans
- Training Requirements
The Fall Protection and Fall Prevention training also utilizes hands-on use of Fall Protection systems.
Upon completion of this safety course, students will receive an HP&P Safety wallet certificate card showing completion of Fall Protection and Fall Prevention training.
