Certificate Program
Provided by Sharp Redesigns
This 5-day course covers everything you need to start your own interior redesign and real estate staging business and qualifies you to call yourself a Certified Redesign & Staging Specialist (CRSS ). No prerequisites are required.
The course is taught by Val Sharp, the founder and past president of the Canadian Re-designers Association and the author of The Art of Redesign 5 Simple Steps to No-Cost Redecorating .
Days 1, 3, and 5 are hands-on redesigns in real clients homes. This gives you the hands-on confidence to be able to redesign your own clients homes. On day 2 we cover all the theory of redesign and real estate staging and the very important differences between the two, and on day 4 we cover sales and marketing information for both. Knowing how to redesign a home as well as stage it allows you to be able to do both sides of the transaction -- staging a home for sale and then doing the 'move-in' to their new home.
The course tends to run from approximately 9: 00 am till about 6: 00 pm each day. I take a maximum of 6 people for each course. The locations are the clients homes on days 1, 3, and 5. Days 2 and 4 will be at another location to be determined.
You will be permitted to take before & after shots of the homes we do; and I try to get client testimonials from everyone to help you build a portfolio and website.
Cost of the course is $2500 plus gst. If you register 4 weeks in advance, it s $2400. Included in the course are: a 200 page manual, a CD with lots of forms, templates and samples you can use in your business, a catered lunch every day, and your initial membership fee of $100 for joining the Canadian Redesigners Association (www. canadianredesigners. org). The Association has many benefits, including a free on-line business listing, members Forum, regional meetings, Annual Conference and some partnerships that provide you with instant credibility and exposure. The annual fee for the CRDA after one year is $100.
I also include two complimentary half-hour coaching sessions as I am a certified personal coach.
The course also qualifies you to join Interior Redesign Industry Specialists (IRIS) in the US (www. weredesign. com ). I am a past board member of that organization.
You can find more information about my course, the schedule, what is included etc on my website at www. sharpredesigns. com under "Training".
