Training Provided by Lorman Education Services Loan Participations: Agreement Servicing and Maintenance - Recent adverse events in the United States financial markets such as the collapse of the subprime mortgage market and the attendant failures of several financial institutions small and large have increased the internal and external scrutiny of the financial assets in the portfolios of the remaining financial institutions. Particular attention is being paid by analysts, government officials, accountants and lawyers to products such as loan participations which may be used by a financial institution to decrease the overall risk represented by its loan portfolios. This teleconference will provide an overview of the structuring, servicing and maintenance considerations for loan participations, and will conclude with a discussion of the proposed amendments to FAS 140.
